The cooking zone is where the cooktop, oven, and microwave close together. The clean zone is the sink and dishwasher; keeping them close will keep clean up easy.
2) Practical kitchen islands
If any of the kitchen zones lacked space, you could move that function to the kitchen island. With maybe the exception of a sink, unless you want one installed, you can use the island for prep work and storage. The island also doubles as extra seating for guests and a dedicated work area if working from home.
3) Small appliance storage
Getting the small appliances off the counter and stored away will give your kitchen a less cluttered and clean feel. Those small appliances can be stored in an appliance garage in a corner cabinet, on a roll-out shelf in a base cabinet, or a pulldown shelf in an upper cabinet. The possibilities are only limited to your imagination as there is a storage accessory for that.
4) Keep dishes close by
If open shelving is the look, you’re going for, having vertical storage for your dishware will fit right into your kitchen. This shelving option allows you to easily store and grab the dishes you need right when you need them.
5) Adding extra style and flair for the ultimate kitchen
With the practical ideas out of the way, you can add a little fun to your kitchen with some stylish pieces.
